Stoke Gifford Community Library

Community libraries are run by local voluntary groups with the support of South Gloucestershire Council who provide stock and advice.

They are linked to the library network which means you can use the South Gloucestershire library membership card to access these services.

 

A community library is situated on the mezzanine above the Old School Rooms Coffee Shop, and is open on the following dates:

Tuesdays fortnightly 2pm to 4pm.

What’s available?

A changing collection of adults and children’s books, large print, spoken word and DVDs.

Full reservation and collection facilities are available – so if there’s something you’d like to read that isn’t in stock, then you can order it in!

 




Light Party

Each year we hold a light party on 31st October, for children to have fun together and celebrate light instead of darkness. 

We’re excited to  be running two parties this year for different ages. Both in the Old School Rooms.

Reception and KS1  –  3.45pm to 5.15pm

KS2  –  5.30pm to 7.00pm

Operation Christmas Child 2017

Eveoperation-christmas-childry year we take part in  Operation Christmas Child – making up for shoeboxes of gifts for children worldwide.  This is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project and is run by Samaritans Purse. It’s a great way to show God’s love in a tangible way to help needy children.

Saturday Breakfast – 14th October

Treasure Field

We’re delighted to be hosting a concert with the Christian band Treasure Field  on Saturday 18th November.

This is one of only 3 dates on their winter tour this year, and they will be supported by our very own Gospel Generation Community Choir!

Harvest 2017

We’re celebrating Harvest at St Michael’s this weekend! Hope you can join us this Sunday.

Do bring along non-perishable food items to:

 – our 9.30am service in Church

 – our 10.30am Celebration in St Michael’s Centre

 – and our 3pm Uniform Group Service in Church

All donated items will be passed on to those in need via the Community of the Sisters of the Church Loaves and Fishes Harvest Appeal.
