Many of you will know Andrew Phelps (aka Phelpsie), who runs the Scout group based at St Michael’s. He is currently fundraising for a defibrillator for the Stoke Gifford Community, and it will be based outside the Old School Rooms.
Here’s his story:
“ I was a police officer in Avon and Somerset and was injured during the Knowle West riots in Bristol, April 1998. As a result I was retired in 2002. Since then I have had various treatments, and in October 2014 had a titanium block placed into my spine. My doctor has put me on exercise on prescription, to build my core and get me out of the house. As an incentive I have pledged to do 100,000 moves and have set up a just giving sight to raise money for a defibrillator in Stoke Gifford where I live”
Andrew hopes to raise £3500 to pay for the defibrillator. Once it’s purchased it will be located outside the Old School Rooms.
