The new village of Cheswick has been built within the parish boundaries of Stoke Gifford. A number of St Michael’s Church members live in Cheswick. Others regularly spend time there. Together we are growing our activities to serve the community, enable Christians to grow in their faith and to reach out to everyone in Cheswick.
Our Saplings playgroup continues to grow on Fridays in term time at Wallscourt Academy.
A small team from St Michael’s help at this each week and some good relationships with parents and carers are developing.
Each Christmas we hold a carol event at Wallscourt Academy for the community.
A monthly “Songs of Praise” event at Beaufort Grange Care Home has started and this is proving popular with the residents. Once every three months Holy Communion is offered. We also offer this at Stoke Gifford Retirement Village, just on the outskirts of Cheswick
We are looking at ways to make the community at Cheswick aware of the activities at St Michael’s and how we can help.
