This week we are looking at three short stories that all happened after Easter. Here’s Rob to tell us more…
Below are some exciting activitives and games for you to try, all linked to the stories we’ve heard. And don’t forget our family quiz!
Fish Snow Globe
Please make sure an adult helps you with this.
You will need:
Empty bottle,Water, Glycerin or baby oil (optional), Glitter (there are suggestions in at the end if you don’t have any glitter)Narrow strips of paper, Sellotape, Card, Googly eyes (or make eyes from card), Glue, Pens
Step 1: Write on the strips of paper:
Jesus said to Peter, “Feed my lambs.”
Jesus said to Peter, “Take care of my sheep.”
Jesus said to Peter, “Follow me!”
Jesus says to us, “Follow me!”
Stick sellotape to both side of the strips of paper so that they are sealed inside and shouldn’t get wet.
Step 2: Put some glitter in the bottle – about 1 teaspoon should be plenty. Add a few teaspoons of glycerin or baby oil, if you don’t have any don’t worry it just means the glitter won’t float for quite so long. Add the narrow strips of paper. Almost fill the bottle with water. Put the lid on and give it a really good shake.
Step 3: Make fins and a tail from the card and stick them to the bottle with sellotape. I included tabs to fold back to help with the sticking. Glue on the eyes and shake!
If you don’t have glitter:
Instead of filling the bottle with glitter and water, fill it with scraps of colourful paper and stick the sentences on the outside of the bottle.
Make and decorate sandals to remind you of the story of the Road to Emmaus
Use an old sheet or blanket to play parachute games – think of it as a net and put lots of soft toys on it to represent fish. Try to bounce as many off as you can.
Have a picnic in your garden or living room – I might have a fish finger sandwich to remind me of the breakfast on the beach!
Play a bible true or false game with your family e.g. Noah was swallowed by a big fish.
