Sunday Club is church for children. It’s much more fun, active, energetic and creative than most of the things grown-ups do in church.
If you are aged between 0 and 11 years old, you will be very glad to hear that every Sunday morning, at our 10.30 service, different activity groups are provided for everyone who is primary school age or younger. If you would rather sit quietly and listen to a grown-up talking for quite a long time, Sunday Club is not for you. It’s strictly reserved for young people that want church to be more fun than that.
We all meet together – grown-ups and children – for the first part of the 10.30 service. (There are more details about where we meet on the 10.30 celebration page of the website.) Then at about 10.50 the grown-ups stay in the Auditorium, and the children all meet in their groups in the Old School Rooms.
Karen Needham is our children’s minister. She organises Sunday Club. And lots of other fun activities for children and young families around Stoke Gifford.
If you want to know which group would suit you best, or you’re interested in helping at Sunday Club, Karen is the person to talk to.
You can contact her via the Church Office or see her most Sundays in the Old School Rooms at 10.30.
There are 5 different Sunday Club groups…
This is for little ones aged 0–3 year olds
A couple of creche leaders organise this group, but parents/carers are welcome to stay with their little ones if they like, and we sometimes need a few extra pairs of hands anyway.
Bubbles is the group for children who are aged between 3 and school reception age.
Bubbles is a gentle group, with lots of stories and things to make as we learn about Jesus together.
If you’re in Year 1 or Year 2 at school, then Splash! is the place for you.
There are games, crafts, stories and sharing.
Years 3 and 4 meet together for some X-Stream fun and learning.
Games, crafts, stories, prayers, competitions and drama are all likely to be included each term.
The oldest Sunday Club members (Years 5 and 6) meet together in the Pathfinders group, for quizzes, discussion, games, learning and prayer.
(If you’re too old for Sunday Club, but still not a grown-up, you may want to be a part of FXG or Word.)
