Following the interviews on Monday 31st October, the PCC (Church Council) are delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Taylor as Director of Operations.
Ian has been a Church leader, Church planter, Business owner, Deputy Headteacher and Senior buyer for the Co-op. This role enables all his previously gained skills to be utilised.
Ian will begin officially in January but will begin an induction process in December. Ian and Elaine will join us on Sunday 27th November, when we’ll make some introductions to the Church community. Let’s give them a warm St Michael’s welcome!
Director of Operations
40 hours per week
Up to £35,000 per annum + contributory pension
St Michael’s is a vibrant, expanding church at the heart of Stoke Gifford, a large suburban community on the edge of Bristol. Our vision is “Living to make a difference by being a Christian heart at the centre of the community through discipleship, outreach and serving the community”.
We are currently midway through an exciting and challenging £6.5 million project to build a new church and community centre and restore and preserve our 14th century church. We also run a thriving community Coffee Shop and Pre-School & Nursery.
We are seeking an experienced and talented Director to lead our Operations Team and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to enable us to advance our vision. You will need to be enthusiastic about joining a church which is eager for change and transformation. Flexibility will also be essential as the role will involve some evening and weekend working.
Self-aware, a first-class communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, you will have experience of successfully managing projects through to completion and be confident in leading and managing teams across a breadth of disciplines including finance, facilities, HR and compliance. You will also be proactive in leading the improvement of our policies and procedures.
