Advent Reflections

Our Christmas theme this year is The Great Invitation.
It’s an invitation to last a lifetime: to follow our Lord Jesus Christ. Over the next few weeks, we will be exploring this in short video reflections. We’ll be led weekly in turn by Vicky Wicks, Tom Benyon, Julie Hobbs, and Simon Jones.

Week 4

For our final reflection, Simon shares how the wise men experienced the Great Invitation.

Week 3

Join Licensed Lay Minister Julie Hobbs for our reflection this week,as we think about the shepherds and how they reacted to their Great Invitation

This week we join Tom for our Advent Reflection as he shares about the role of Joseph in the Christmas story

For our first reflection, Vicky Wicks reflects on how Mary must have felt at her own invitation….

What were we doing at Christmas 1971?

Christmas is often the time of year when we feel nostalgic and think of years gone by. We were recently given a copy of this notice sheet from 52 years ago, Christmas 1971! We’ve enjoyed looking at it, so thought we would share it! Click here to see it

Remembrance Sunday

Sunday 12 November is Remembrance Sunday

Our ten-thirty will begin outside with everyone gathering around the war memorial on The Green at 10.25am.  If you are worshipping at the nine o’clock, why not stay for coffee and then attend the act of Remembrance?

We will be joined by the Royal British Legion, and local Uniformed Groups. A short act of Remembrance will take place, with the laying of wreaths and 2 minutes silence.

After this everyone else will gather in the auditorium in St Michael’s Centre, from there, our young people will go to their groups in the usual places.  Our live-streamed online service will begin at approximately 10.45am.

Brighter Days from Kintsugi Hope

Kintsugi Hope is bringing their Brighter Days Tour to St Michael’s Centre on Saturday 18 November.
It starts at 7:30pm in our main Auditorium and tickets are £8 per person.

Join Patrick Regan OBE and Natasha Petrovic for an evening of humour, music and inspiration. The Brighter Days Tour is packed full of practical tips alongside stories of struggle and strength.

This evening is for all of us who want tools to invest in our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health so we can look forward to a healthier and more hopeful future.

St Michael’s Centre will be selling refreshments before, during, and in the interval.
