At St Michael’s we host several events each week, month or quarter focused on helping the older members of our congregation to come together in friendship, worship and safety.
Below you will find details of each event, when and where it is held, along with details of how your can join or sign up.

Following the success of our first ever ‘Holiday at Home’ in July 2022, we are planning a ‘Day at the seaside’ themed event at St Michael’s Centre on Thursday 18 July 2024 from 9.30am-4.30pm.

It will be a fun-filled day with a wide range of activities and good food, all designed to help us take a ’Trip down Memory Lane…’

Bookings can be made online here in-person at the Office on Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm.

The ticket price of £10 is payable (by cash, card or online) at the time of booking.

We look forward to seeing you there!

A roast lunch, a glass of wine, good conversation and a chance to meet new people from the local area.

Everyone is welcome, whether or not they come to church.  On some occasions, there is live music, and sometimes the chance to sing along as well.

Osbourne Court is the modern residential care home that sits right next door to the St Michael’s Centre on North Road in Stoke Gifford.

Once a month, on a Sunday afternoon, we gather there with residents, their families and carers for a simple act of worship together. Our service includes hymns, testimony, a short talk and some prayers.

We also offer a simple communion service at Osbourne Court on a Thursday morning – usually the second Thursday of the month at 11.00am.

Details of particular dates and times will be made available to residents in the care home.

The Link Club is a friendly fortnightly gathering for ladies over retirement age.  We meet for conversation and refreshments, and there is usually a speaker as well.

We meet alternately in Stoke Gifford and Little Stoke – hence the name Link Club – because we link the two ends of the parish.

Twice a year we have a coach outing together, once in the summer and once at new year, for a meal.
