We consider our financial giving to be a key part of the discipleship, outreach and serving of our community that enables us to fulfill our vision of Living to Make a Difference by being a Christian Heart at the Centre of Our Communities.

Giving… what is its purpose? What can it accomplish? More than finances, giving is an act of worship — an expression of love for Jesus and His Kingdom.
Through giving, we reach our community.
Through giving, we spread the gospel and expand His Kingdom.
Through giving, we fight the darkness, feed the hungry, clothe those in need, embrace the lost, and help heal the broken
Giving is not just support for ministry — it is worship. It is recognising the One who gave everything, even His very life.
This October, we invite you to join us in giving in the following ways:
a) Make a one-off gift towards our mission & ministry
b) Set up a monthly donation via standing order
c) Increase your ‘existing’ monthly donation by 5% (in line with inflation)
Your gifts enable us to grow and learn together, share Jesus together in our community and equip us to serve a growing number of people in our parish and beyond

How to Give
By standing order or internet banking
To set up or amend a standing order, log in to your online banking or visit your local branch with our bank account details

Once you have set up or amended your standing order, please email us so we can identify your gift and thank you. Please also complete a Gift Aid form if you are eligible

Payroll Giving Via Your Employer
Many employers offer Payroll Giving which allows you to give directly to St Michael’s from your salary before tax is deducted. This means if you give £100 per month and are a basic rate taxpayer, the gift will only cost you £80 from your net pay. If you pay a higher rate of tax, £100 a month will only cost you £60 from your net pay. To find out if your employer offers Payroll Giving, contact your HR office.
Charitable Aid Agencies
You may wish to give to St Michael’s via a charitable aid agency such as Stewardship, CAF, Charities Trust, or Charitable Giving. These agencies are useful for those who give to multiple charities and wish to have their giving recorded in one place or for those who wish to give anonymously to St Michael’s.
Legacies
Did you know you can leave a legacy gift to St Michael’s in your Will? A gift in your Will is a tax-free donation to charity. After family and loved ones are provided for, you can leave a set amount of money or a percentage of your estate as a legacy gift. When writing your Will, if you instruct your solicitor to include a gift of a sum of money to St Michaels Church and give them our Charity Number (1134709), this will be honoured and the remainder of your estate will pass to your beneficiaries. It’s as simple as that!

Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a scheme available to charities which means they can claim extra money from HMRC. The charity can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, as long as you’ve paid the basic rate of tax and make the donation from your own funds. That means Gift Aid can increase the value of your donations by 25%, so St Michael’s will benefit further from your giving.
UK taxpayers can also complete a simple Gift Aid form, which means the government will donate an extra 25% on top of your giving at no cost to you. What is Gift Aid?
