St Michael’s is a church where we all have a part to play.
Every part of the body is as vital as every other. We aim to discover and develop our individual gifts and abilities, and put them to the best possible use through discipleship, outreach and serving the community.
I love leading at St Michael’s. I love to be in a Church that welcomes new people, that helps each other to follow Jesus more closely, and that serves the local community. That’s my passion and our Vision as a Church. Come and be a part of it!
Please contact Simon at the church office. Telephone 0117 969 2486.
I love the people side of church and community. I enjoy the opportunity to connect with some of the youngest (through my involvement with the Pre-School & Nursery) and the oldest (through the church services we offer at Osbourne Court Residential Care Home). But I love every age in-between as well, working together with a great many others to try and provide pastoral ministry (welcome-connection-care-prayer) to people in every season of life.
Please contact Julie at the church office. Telephone 0117 969 2486.
I love working with children. Our aim in the children’s work is to have fun together while learning about Jesus. It is great to be part of a church which sees children as worshipping members of the church. We have a fabulous team who work hard with the children to ensure that our love and relationship with God is growing. We are blessed to have strong links with St Michael’s School which we visit each week leading assemblies and teaching some RE to groups of children, as well as having the joy of celebrating Christian festivals with different year groups at church.
Please contact Karen at the church office. Telephone 0117 969 2486.
I lead our work with 11-18s both in the church and in the community. My main passion is seeing teenagers meet with God and enabling others in the congregations to do the same. I came to St Michael’s after experiencing a really warm welcome on my first Sunday here, and I love the church’s focus on serving our community. I’m also part of a life group here and lead worship too.

Student & Young Adult Assistant
I’m an ordinand at Trinity College, on placement with St Michael’s and I have a real passion for people in all walks of life. This year I’ll be leading the student work and exploring new opportunities for us to reach young adults in our community.
I joined St Michael’s 1993 with my wife Carol and our two children. We integrated quickly into the church family and have made life-long friendships. I have led adult and teenage groups and love to see people grow in their faith. I am now looking forward to this new opportunity to serve in the warden’s role.
Licensed Lay Minister
As a lay minister my motivation is to help people to understand the Bible and to grow in Christian maturity. I would love to be like Samuel in the Old Testament who, we are told, “…grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground”. I aim to support the clergy and staff team, particularly with leading services and preaching. It has been a real privilege to have been a part of the church family over almost 30 years, and to have seen it grow so much during that time.
Please contact Murray via the church office. Telephone 0117 969 2486.
Licensed Lay Minister
As a Licenced Lay Minister, I enjoy being part of the team who lead and preach at Sunday services. I play guitar in a couple of the worship teams. I have played leading roles in both Deanery and Diocesan, so if you have any questions about the wider Church of England I may be able to help. Please contact Richard via the church office. Telephone 0117 969 2486.
Licensed Lay Minister
I love being part of a Church that has diversity in worship styles, reflecting the rich tapestry that is the Church of England. It is a real joy for me to be able to serve our Lord in this place, especially having the opportunity to be with others and to support them through life’s difficulties whatever they may be. I love also being part of a church family where people do encourage each other as they grow in faith. It is a privilege, as an LLM, to be a part of this aspect of Church by preaching and leading services and engaging in other forms of teaching and training.
Licensed Lay Minister
Poppy and I moved to Bristol in 2017 and we settled in so quickly thanks to the very warm welcome we received from everyone St Michael’s. We love worshipping here. Such a good spread of ages at the services from the youngest to the oldest. Plus great teaching and worship. After a few months of finding our feet in a new church, we soon found various areas of church life where we can play an active part.
I joined the senior leadership team at St Michael’s in January 2017. I was immediately struck by the positive approach to the future, and the ambitious nature of all who I met in the church. My particular role in the team is to make sure the foundations are there for strong and sustainable growth and be a point of contact to help knit together the various functions and ministries in the church allowing the clergy to stay sharp for their particular areas of ministry. Thankfully I am supported in that task by a great team!

I’m here for all things admin! The thing I like most about being part of St Michael’s is the diverse and inclusive way that we approach our vision. I love being part of making things happen here. In my spare time I love singing, live music and theatre, and really enjoy being part of the worship team as well as my day-to-day admin role.

As Treasurer, I love working with the wider finance team to keep the church’s finances (budgets and actuals) under regular review. I also love the great community feel at St Michaels which has a strong welcome for everyone. I live in the local parish with my wife and twin boys and try to go sailing as often as I can.
I love working at St. Michael’s! No two days are the same. It’s a real privilege working with so many amazing people. I enjoy the breadth and depth of my work and am lucky to have fun at the same time. My work enables me to make connections with so many different people in the church and the wider community. We look forward to welcoming you here.

Alpha Co-ordinatior/ Baptism Preparation / Welcome
I am married to Rob and we found a home in St Michael’s in 1996. We have two boys and I love that they feel this is their church just as much as we do. My passion is for people to meet Jesus and to find a place to belong. Over the years my work for the church seems to have mostly involved food… I am responsible for all things Alpha, and also take a lead on Baptism Preparation and Welcome.
Vijay and Tracy Jassal
Tracy and Vijay organise the numerous Life Groups at St Michael’s. Everyone is invited to be a member of a life group – to meet regularly with other church friends for conversation, prayer, Bible study and to serve the community together. More information here.

Olly and Tamara McGregor
We have been part of the St Michaels family since 2009 and, along with our daughters Chloe and Abby, love worshipping here. Our passion is to see people of all ages encounter God through musical worship, from the singing of traditional hymns through to jumping around to funky action songs about burgers or sheep! We are always on the lookout for people who would like to get involved within the musical life of the church. If you are interested, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Youth Ministry Assistant
I’m part of the youth work team here at St Mikes. I love spending time with young people, showing them that they are seen and loved, and seeing them understand the love that Jesus has for them. It’s great to have the chance to work with so many young people here! Outside of church I’m a bit of a film buff, I love books and singing, and have been known to crochet from time to time
I am one third of the youth team here at St Michael’s and focus on the 15-18 year olds work. I have been a youth worker since I was 18 but also have experience in International Development. I am passionate about discipleship, social action, and local and global development. Avid coffee drinker, Liverpool fan, and outdoor enthusiast.
St Michael’s Centre Caretaker
I’m involved in a lot of different areas of Church life, Youthwork, drumming and sound being a few, in addition to my role as caretaker. I particularly enjoy helping people to engage in worship and Meet with God.

Children’s Ministry Assistant
I first came to St Michael’s in 1992 and became a Sunday Club leader within a fortnight. Having recently given up work, I now help Karen with the varied and extensive children’s ministry. I love being able to talk to the children about God’s love for us and St Michael’s provides many opportunities to do this.
