Brazil Florianopolis

We are the Rocks family and we are Mission Partners with CMS in Florianópolis Brazil. Before moving to Brazil, we were members of St Michael’s.

In Florianópolis we have planted a Vineyard church on the north of the island. Our church is a growing church with a variety of groups and activities, such as life groups, youth and children’s groups, a craft group, prayer meetings and a theological study group. We are reaching out into our community by going out onto the streets or the beach to offer prayer and share about the difference Jesus makes in our lives. We run Alpha courses and have initiated a missional small group as a nucleus for a new church plant. We also have run a food bank to help take care of some of the most vulnerable in our community.

Last year (2021) we launched the New Wine Discipleship Year here, training the next generation of leaders and church planters, tying in with our vision to plant more churches in the region.

May 2017 update

Jimmy and Katia are leading a new church plant in Florianopolis. The church is part of the Association of Vineyard Churches in Brazil. HOTC tithe funding from St Michael’s is being used to help with the costs of setting up the new church. This has included buying equipment and furniture and paying the rent for the initial months until the church is self-sufficient.
