St Michael’s, Stoke Gifford is a lively, growing Anglican church on the northern edge of Bristol. We are a welcoming crowd of everyday people, living to make a difference by being a Christian heart at the centre of the community. Everyone is welcome at St Michael’s.
There are dozens of ways to connect at St Michael’s, not just within our weekly worship on Sundays. We explore, learn, share and relax together in all kinds of groups and activities, seven days a week. There are opportunities for everyone to play their part.
We are all learning at St Michael’s. Journeying together. And it’s often as we try new things that we grow fastest. That’s what discipleship is all about, and it’s central to our work through our small groups and courses, and in our commitment to prayer, care and sharing the resources we’ve been given.
Outreach plays a vital part in our life as a church. We aim to make a difference well beyond our parish boundaries. We support and work with teams that fight poverty and spread the good news of Jesus locally, nationally and around the world.
Serving the community is the heartbeat of life at St Michael’s. Our coffee shop, our meeting rooms and our professional pre-school and nursery are used by hundreds of local families, businesses, groups and individuals all year round. And the generosity of all those who volunteer is constantly bringing reality to our vision of living to make a difference.
Our coffee shop provides a delicious selection of drinks, cakes and light lunches right in the heart of Stoke Gifford.
It’s a modern, stylish café with an excellent reputation, both for the quality of the refreshments and the warmth of the welcome.
The relaxed atmosphere, the professionalism of the staff and the quality of our cappuccinos and cakes mean that many of our customers enjoy meeting here week after week.
You’ll find the coffee shop right next to the village green in the heart of Stoke Gifford. It’s located in the main hall of beautifully adapted victorian village school rooms, which now form part of the St Michael’s Church Centre.
We look forward to making you welcome.

The coffee shop is run to the highest standards of quality and food hygiene by a professional manager. But, as a not-for-profit community facility, many of our trained staff are volunteers.
There are always opportunities for local people to support the work of the coffee shop by giving some time each week to keep things running smoothly. This could be as little as just a couple of hours washing up, or several half days a week making cappuccinos and lattes.
Full training is provided.
Please contact the coffee shop manager if you would like to find out more.

Its been great over the past few days to see groups of of children, parents and more than a few adults that seem to have forgotten the children hunting Pokemon on The Green and around the Church.
The Church, Old School Rooms & War Memorial are all Pokestops so why not let the kids go hunting whilst you sit outside the Coffee Shop and enjoy one of our freshly made coffees – you can even use the free wifi so you save some data for your own Pokemon hunting later on.
Just please try not to catch any during the services on Sunday!
The Old School Rooms Coffee Shop is an important part of the work of St Michael’s Church, and has a fantastic group of volunteers working in it. To continue to serve the community we need at least 20 volunteers a week, every week. Most volunteers work a 4 hour shift once a week (or once a month if working on Saturday). This is a great way to get to know people in the church and the local community.
Is this something you feel you would like to be part of? If so, please do get in touch. Email email@example.com or why not have a chat with Ann Cooke, Coffee Shop Manager, when you next drop in for Coffee?
The Old School Rooms Coffee Shop will be open as usual until 2pm on Friday 19th December. We will then be closed for a Christmas break and re-opening on Monday 5th January at 9.30am. We wish all our customers a happy Christmas and look forward to serving you in 2015.
