In our Nursery, working in partnership with our parents/carers is of key importance
for a number of reasons:
- Support you in settling your child into the Nursery environment or any transitions that take place.
- To support you in ensuring that your child feels safe and secure whilst in your care.
- To work with you in further supporting your child’s learning, development, progress and next steps.
- For there to be a two-way process of communication allowing there to be a positive relationship between home and Nursery so that we are all learning from each other to give your child the best experiences and opportunities.
To allow this to take place smoothly every child will be allocated a member of staff who will become their Key Person. The Key Person along with all the staff in the room will offer security, reassurance and continuity. The Key Person will be the best person to understand your child’s needs and share information with you about your child’s experiences with us.

Famly
At our setting we use Famly; Famly is a digital platform for Early Years Educators and families to collaborate and nurture children together.
Famly allows you to see all the activities that your child participates in whilst in our care and it also allows you to share information from home.
It also allows effective communication to take place including important news updates, messages, invoices etc. Parents will be able to mark their child as absent, or sick and book holidays.
Nursery Parent Forum
The Parent Forum exists to support and encourage St Michael’s Preschool and Nursery as they care for our children. It is a friendly, supportive group who represent the voice of parents/carers on broad topics which impact all children within the setting.
The forum feeds back comments from parents/carers, act as a sounding board for the nursery team to discuss plans and moderate parent WhatsApp groups.
Meetings are held three times a year, generally in February, June and November.
Concerns or comments regarding individual children or staff are not discussed.
Any parent using the setting is welcome to join the Parent Forum.
If you would like to join us please contact nursery directly or via our email address: stmichaelsparents@outlook.com
