Kintsugi Hope is bringing their Brighter Days Tour to St Michael’s Centre on Saturday 18 November. It starts at 7:30pm in our main Auditorium and tickets are £8 per person.
Join Patrick Regan OBE and Natasha Petrovic for an evening of humour, music and inspiration. The Brighter Days Tour is packed full of practical tips alongside stories of struggle and strength.
This evening is for all of us who want tools to invest in our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health so we can look forward to a healthier and more hopeful future.
St Michael’s Centre will be selling refreshments before, during, and in the interval.
Every year we take part in Operation Christmas Child – making up for shoeboxes of gifts for children worldwide. This is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project and is run by Samaritans Purse. It’s a great way to show God’s love in a tangible way to help needy children.
Click here for information on how to pack a shoebox. We will also soon have leaflets available in Church and St Michael’s Centre.
Tougher import regulations mean no toothpaste, chocolate or sweets as shoebox gifts. Let’s think creatively by adding other fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items that a child will love. More ideas here or download gift suggestions here.
Please drop off your boxes in church or St Michael’s Centre ready for collection by Sunday 13 November.
Jesus makes a difference. He gives so much to us. Will you give back to Him?

Here at St Michael’s, our giving helps so much to happen!
Together we can make a difference.
We are called to be a Christian heart at the centre of our communities.
When we give, we help God’s work to happen.
If those who currently give, could increase our giving by £5 a week, alongside fifty new givers, giving £10 a week, and twenty-five new givers giving £20 a week, our annual deficit would vanish.
Please think and pray about what you might give this year. Either as a one-off payment or a monthly standing order payment.
We invite everyone at St Michael’s to count ourselves in by giving. Our generosity helps us to Learn and Grow, Share Jesus and Serve….TOGETHER!

On Sunday 15 October we will be having a soup lunch in aid of the Persecuted Church at 12.30 in the Lower Hall. We will have lunch together, watch some inspirational videos and pray. There is no charge, but donations will be welcome towards the work of Open Doors and Barnabas Aid. Please join us in supporting our brothers and sisters in countries where following Jesus can mean being cut off from your family, imprisonment, or even death. Please sign-up to let us know you’re coming
How is your emotional wellbeing?
After the last few years it may well have taken a bit of a battering! Maybe you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, grief or stress or maybe you are supporting someone dealing with these issues…
They are all very normal emotions; so please know that you are not alone!
Why not consider joining a 6 week wellbeing programme being run by St Michael’s Church, Stoke Gifford? It’s called Kintsugi Hope and is based on the belief that there can be treasure found in the scars of life.
Each week, in a small, safe and supportive group, we will look at subjects rarely talked about in-depth such as : Honesty, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, shame and anger.
The aim of this shared journey is to gain support, understanding and tools that will enable us to become more resilient.
Kintsugi groups are suitable both for people of faith and for those with none. This particular course is for Men only.
Together with South Gloucestershire Council service for Resettling Communities, we hosted an outdoor Mid-Autumn Festival on Friday 29 September on the Green. This was to mark the Moon Festival, which many of our Hong Kong Community celebrate. A team from St Michael’s worked with South Glos Council staff to plan the event and it was a great evening! It was featured on BBC Points West just before the event started, and many people came along to celebrate.
We are pleased to let you know that we will be hosting a Parenting for Faith course this Autumn. The course is on Monday evenings in St Michael’s Centre. It starts on 25 September and runs for 8 sessions (except Monday 23 October). We will be meeting at 7.45pm with the course content starting at 8.00pm with a 9.00pm finish.
The Parenting for Faith course is for suitable for anyone who wants to help children and teens meet and know God – parents, carers, grandparents, godparents, extended family as well as children’s and youth leaders who would like to find out more about how to help the children in your life to meet and know God. Throughout the eight weeks of this online course, you will be equipped with key tools to help you do just that as part of your everyday life.
The course will be run on Zoom, so you will have the choice to either gather in person and watch together at St Michael’s Centre or have the Zoom link and join from home. During the course, you’ll break out into a St Michael’s discussion group where Iain Nash, our Children and Families Minister will provide you with everything you need so there will be nothing to prepare in advance.
