Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come 2026

Thy Kingdom Come (TKC) is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.

This year’s Thy Kingdom Come is all about the presence of God through His spirit.

The God who is with us in the everyday – in the joys and sorrows of life (and everything in between) and the One who, through His spirit, longs to reveal Himself to those who do not yet know Him.

From the story of Ruth to the story of Gideon, from the story of Elijah to the story of the early church who waited for the promised Holy Spirit to come- over the 11 days we will explore a different Bible story each day, which demonstrates God’s transformative presence, power and love at work in the lives of people and places.

The hope is that as we pray for our five people, they will also experience the life-changing love of God and choose to follow Him.

The award-winning Thy Kingdom Come App is back this year! Packed with inspirational films, prayers, Bible readings, reflections and space to ‘Pray for Five’, The app is a one-stop shop for all you need to journey throughout the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come.

Plant Swap

Plant Swap

On Saturday 10 May we are hosting a Plant Swap from 10am to 12pm in St Michael’s Centre. It’s running at the same time as the Repair Cafe and will be in the Lower Hall.

A great opportunity to share any surplus plants with others and swap for something different or buy plants, for a small donation, if you don’t have any to swap. If you have grown too many seedlings or have divisions of plants then bring them along to share with others.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to share surplus plants and pick up new plants. We ask for a small voluntary donations if you don’t bring any plants to swap. All proceeds will be donated to North Bristol & South Gloucestershire Foodbank.

If you have grown too many seedlings or have divisions/cuttings of plants or self-sown seedlings, then bring them along to share with others.

All plants welcome: Tomatoes, Veg, Flowers, Herbs, Houseplants etc.

Please label plants and bring them in single containers ready for people to take away.

If you have plants to share, or if you would like more information, please contact Rebecca Bishop via the office, or just bring along your plants on the morning.

Service

From 19 April, we are looking at the practice of Service, as part of our teaching series, Practicing the Way, where we learn habits to help us become more like Jesus, and develop a Rule of Life.

We will be exploring the theme of Service and following individual sermon titles each Sunday

  1. Love
  2. Hiddeness
  3. Availability
  4. Family

These sermons can be seen on our Rule of Life: Serving playlist on YouTube

This Practice is also perfect to use with Life groups, with detailed videos and resources available to Life group leaders

The Rule of Life podcast also has a series on service, which is available on Spotify.

Serving Together

Serving together is right at the heart of everything we do. Most of our activities are run and facilitated by volunteers. We hope that everyone will find a way to get involved.

Some teams require a certain level of skill or experience whilst for others, no previous experience is necessary.

Either way, we would love to help you connect and find ways of getting stuck in.

Confirmation

Confirmation

Sunday 21 June 2026 – Christ the King Church, Bradley Stoke

Please respond by 20 May – apply here

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized. If you were baptized at a christening when you were a child, your parents and godparents made these promises on your behalf. As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit your life to following Jesus Christ. Or perhaps you were baptized as an adult and are now ready to confirm those promises.

At a confirmation service, you make these promises for yourself. Your friends and family will be there to promise to support and pray for you.

This year, there is the opportunity to be confirmed at the Deanery Confirmation service at Christ the King, Bradley Stoke on Sunday 21 June at 4pm

If you would like to be confirmed, please complete the online form here by 20 May or get in touch if you would like more information.
