Vision Night and Annual Church Meeting

Join us for an evening of inspiration and vision at our Annual Meeting and Vision Night on Wednesday 29 April 2026 at 7.30pm.

Throughout the evening we will be looking forward at our vision, values and strategy. 

And we’ll also complete our formal Church of England annual meeting requirements as the PCC.

What is the PCC?

The PCC (Parochial Church Council) is the governing body of St Michael’s overseeing our ministry and mission. It is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, proper recruitment and staff management. The PCC is required to hold an APCM (Annual Parochial Church Meeting) where reports are shared, accounts approved, and new members and officers are elected. Anyone can come to the annual meeting; only those on the electoral roll can vote.

You can just turn up, but it would aid us in planning if you could register in advance. Please click here

Serve on PCC

The PCC (Parochial Church Council) is made up of Clergy, Church Wardens, members of the Deanery and Diocesan Synods and a number of elected members. Being a member of the PCC means you are part of decision making, and carries some legal responsibilities. PCC members are considered ‘trustees’ by the Charity Commission.  To stand for election to the PCC you must be 16 or over, on the church Electoral Roll, regularly take communion, and be legally allowed to be a Charity Trustee.

At the meeting on Wednesday 29 April we will be electing new members. If you have an interest in standing, please contact the PCC Secretary via the church office or speak with Simon.

Annual Meeting Documents

In line with our commitment to being more eco-friendly, we will not be printing multiple copies of the meeting documents.  Please download in advance or bring a device with you that you can access the internet on.  Printed copies will be available on request in advance. – please sign-up to request them. The link to access the documents will be emailed to you when you sign up to confirm your attendance. If you cannot make the meeting but would like to access the documents, please email Laura@stmichaelsbristol.org

Easter

Easter 2026

Join in with all things Easter, as we reflect on the cross and celebrate in the hope of the resurrection.

Join us for a powerful, worship-filled evening as we gather around the table to retell the story of the Exodus and the Last Supper!

We’ll share a delicious lamb-based meal together, with dessert and drinks, as we worship, reflect on the meaning of the Last Supper, and take Communion as a community. There will also be the opportunity to take part in foot or hand washing — a meaningful expression of humility and love.

Tickets are £12 per person (to cover the cost of the event) and £6 for children under 16.

The evening begins at 7:30pm.

We’re so excited to share this special time together and can’t wait to see you there!

Join us on Good Friday morning at 10am where we will have 6 craft and activity stations helping us to journey through and reflect on the story of Easter. 

At 11.00am we will meet in the church auditorium for a short time to bring our thoughts together through video, song and reading before enjoying Hot Cross Buns and refreshments at the end. Booking is not required, just come along!

Join us in the Lower Hall in St Michael’s Centre for our Good Friday Reflective Service with Holy Communion. Seven different people – clergy, lay ministers and congregation members share short reflections interspersed with worship and time for silent reflection

Communion will be at 1.45pm.

Stay for as little or as long as you like.

Arrive or leave on the quarter-hour.

Four opportunities to worship the risen Jesus on this glorious day!

The 8.45 am in the Lower Hall, The Ten-Thirty Celebration in the Auditorium, Evensong in Seminar Room 3, and The Six-Thirty in the Auditorium.

Global Call to Pray for Peace

We dare to believe that Jesus is still Prince of Peace. 

These are not ordinary times. Conflict and instability continue to shake many regions, and the escalation of war in the Middle East adds fresh urgency to our prayers. In response, we are interrupting our schedules to pray more intentionally for our world, and we invite you to join us. 

From 16–22 March, we are committing to a week of prayer for peace. As we gather to stand in the gap for the nations, we’re asking you to join in—whether for a moment, an hour, or a watch in the night—as together we seek God’s peace and mercy for the world.

Global Prayer for the Middle East

A Global Prayer Gathering for Peace and Hope

For those who weren’t able to join live, the event is available on youtube, to join in with praying at any time

You are warmly invited to join a special prayer gathering with believers connected to churches in Iran, Lebanon, across the Middle East region, and around the world hosted by the Rt Rev Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani (Bishop of Chelmsford and a refugee from Iran) and Christian theologian and broadcaster Dr Krish Kandiah OBE, Director of the Sanctuary Foundation.

As violence and uncertainty affect many communities across the Middle East, we bring together church leaders and Christian voices from around the world to pray for peace, comfort and protection for all who are suffering.

Together we will listen, reflect on up-to-the-minute news and testimony and pray for those facing grave danger, displacement and loss, asking God to bring hope, justice and reconciliation in the midst of crisis.
