The new church and community centre – a change in construction phasing

Following recommendations received by the Heart of the Community’s professional advisors, the VAT consultants, Peter Fewings and Dave Carey, and with the full support of the Heart of the Community steering group, the DCC (church council) has approved the re-phasing of the construction of the new church and community centre – to construct initially a weatherproof and water-tight “whole shell only” building.

The building firm, Bray and Slaughter, has been selected to construct the building, and this new approach will be much more efficient and will save a considerable amount of money.

Once the shell is complete, the big push will be to fit out as much as possible to provide the much needed space. We have raised over £2 million so far, only another £3.5 million to go.
