St Michael’s Church Pre-School & Nursery is an expression of the vision of St Michael’s Church of ‘Living to make a difference’ by being ‘a Christian heart at the centre of our communities’.  We aim to serve our community with quality childcare that supports and encourages each child’s development within a Christian environment.  In line with the charitable aims of the church, the setting is ‘not for profit’.

The Management Committee is the registration holder with OFSTED and reports to the St Michael’s Church PCC (Parochial Church Council).

It is made up of the following members, all of whom play an active part in the life of the Nursery, interacting with staff, children and parents in different ways:

A word from our Chair

Although St Michael’s Church Pre-School & Nursery only moved across to its home at the Old Vicarage in 2008, we have in fact been serving our community since 1989 with Pre-School provision.

From the very beginning, we have seen this opportunity to be entrusted with the care and nurture of these young children as a real privilege as we look to demonstrate God’s love and care in practical ways.
The ministry of the Pre-School & Nursery very much springs out of our vision as a church of ‘living to make a difference’ in the lives of each individual we have contact with and in the community as a whole. We believe in a God who is real and who offers each one of us the opportunity to know him personally as Father and friend.

We encourage your children to know this for themselves.

We trust that your involvement with Pre-School & Nursery will be a very happy one for you and your child and that it will enrich your family life.
It may be that your connection with Pre-School & Nursery will set you thinking about your own faith and
we want you and your family to feel most welcome to join us for our Celebration services on Sundays. We also offer the Alpha course, a relaxed and informal way to explore the Christian faith, three times a year.
I personally have been involved with Pre-School from its very beginning – first as an excited observer, then as a parent, vice-chair and now chair.
I remain just as excited about and committed to the vision today as ever.
Preparing and equipping our children for life is such an important process and we, at St Michael’s Church, are delighted to have the facilities and staff to play a part in the provision of preschool and nursery care in Stoke Gifford.

I look forward to meeting you in the coming year.
